THE MYSTERY OF SPIRITUAL GATES
“This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.”

Gates and doors are very significant in the life of human beings.
A city without a gate is open to various unwanted things and personalities.
Just as in the physical, there are also spiritual gates and doors.
In ancient times, for a city, town or village to be highly secured, they would fence it around and they would put what is called the iron gate in order to prevent the enemy from coming in.
The weaker the gate, the higher the risk of the treasures within that land.
Now, within Jericho, there are enemies to be conquered; treasures to be released and taken, but they constructed the wall of Jericho in a way that made it impossible for a man to break through.
The gate that was put there made it difficult for them to get into. No matter how many people tried, it was very difficult.
In the Bible the men of God understood the importance of gates, and what they stood for. Hence in their prayers the constant refrain was: “…and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them” – (Gen 24:60).
We see the same repeated in the same book of Genesis when the angel of God prayed for father Abraham: “…and thy seed shall possess the gates of his enemy” (Gen 22:17).
The gates of Jericho Joshua 6: 1 we read how the people of Jericho effectively utilised the purpose for erecting gates.
“Now Jericho was strictly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out and none came in”.
Safety has always been the paramount reason for erecting gates in both old times and now. Both physically and spiritual gates
Note that whoever controls the gate has dominion, power in his grasp.
Lose control of the gate, and you are in big trouble.
Gates or doors serve as a notice board for angels to determine whether the inhabitants of a house are children of God, or not.
In Deuteronomy 6:9 the Lord instructed the Israelites to write his word upon their gates.
Deuteronomy 6:9
(9) And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.
Isaiah 45:1-3 states: Thus saith the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two-leaved gates, and the gates shall not be shut;
I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut asunder the bars of iron:
And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the LORD, who call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.
From this biblical passage we gather that
–access to wealth could be gained through these spiritual gates (here referred to as leaves gates.)
This passage indicates:
–That there are hidden riches and wealth that no man has access to unless the Lord opens the spiritual gates that guide them to him.
–That unless a higher authority decrees otherwise, a gate of wealth and prosperity open to one’s life may be shut by the enemy.
Please, at this point, let us pause to take the following prayer points:
Oh Lord, Open up unto me the gate of wealth and riches in this land.
Every power that has closed the gate of prosperity against me dies in the name of Jesus.
I shall locate and open the gates of prosperity in this land in Jesus name.
(9) GATES YOU MUST CONQUER IF YOU WILL MANIFEST
1 . THE GATE OF LIMITATIONS: What is the meaning of limitation ? It means, stopping within a limit.
Limitations are dangerous tools the enemy uses to hinder God’s children from being fruitful. Every family has the gates of limitations.
There are gates of limitations that want to stop us from doing mighty things for God.
There are gates of limitations that want to just stop you within a limit; that want to stop you within a boundary; that want to stop you from moving forward.
2 . THE GATES THAT KILL DREAMS: This gate is very dangerous.
It has hindered a lot of men’s dreams and turned their lives into a mess. They became the opposites of their dreams.

Laziness is an enemy of destiny and your destination.
Failure to take actions and steps can hinder manifestation.
8 . THE GATE OF BESETTING SIN: Besetting sin is a sin that has become part of your life. It’s already in your nature; conversation; lifestyle.
