EXAMPLES OF PEOPLE THAT FACE DIFFICULT TIMES IN THE BIBLE.
1 . Ruth – A widow facing destitution, Ruth exhibited unwavering loyalty and humility and eventually married Boaz, leading to her redemption and inclusion in the lineage of Jesus. (Book of Ruth)
2. Job – Despite losing his wealth, health, and family, Job remained faithful to God and was ultimately restored and blessed abundantly. (Job 42:10-17)
3. Joseph – Sold into slavery by his brothers, falsely accused and imprisoned, Joseph eventually became a powerful ruler in Egypt, saving many lives. (Genesis 37-50)
4. Daniel – Forced into exile and confronted with various tests of faith, Daniel’s steadfastness brought him influence and favour in the midst of a foreign land. (Daniel 1-6)
5. Mephibosheth
We saw the story of this man in
2 Samuel 9:1-13.
“Is there anyone still left of the house of Saul to whom I can show kindness for Jonathan’s sake?” (2 Samuel 9:1)
“I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.” (2 Samuel 9:7)
This reminds us of God’s redemptive power and His ability to restore us, even in our brokenness.
“Mephibosheth lived in Jerusalem, because he always ate at the king’s table; he was lame in both feet.” (2 Samuel 9:13)
6. Obededom
1 Chronicles 13:13-14 So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite. And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obededom, and all that he had.
If People Write You off, Don’t write yourself off, Don’t let difficult time mar or destroy you , but rather let it bring out the best in you .
HOW TO DEAL WITH DIFFICULT TIME.
1. EXAMINE YOUR HEART.
Some Difficulties are not God’s will, they are guests invited by our disobedience.
Just like the case of Naomi and her husband, they went to the land of Moab, land of idolatry because there was famine in the Land.
You can read the story in the book of Ruth 1:1-8.
The husband of Naomi sought physical wealth over spiritual wealth.
He was living for a short time, he was not living for eternity. So he carried his entire family into the land of Moab.
2. DON’T ALLOW THE SITUATION TO CONTROL YOU.
3. SPEAK POSITIVELY.
4. RELY ON GOD’S PROMISES
5. DON’T SEEK COUNSEL FROM WRONG PEOPLE.
Because sometimes when you go through difficult situation, you must be humble enough to seek counsel but don’t seek for counsel from wrong people.
6. BE OPEN TO YOUR SPIRITUAL LEADERS.
Understand that your leader is a human being, he’s not omnipresence that will know what you are going through, that will know your secret tears, you know, you have to open up.
7. YOU MUST PREMEDITATE ON GOD’S PERSONAL PROMISES FOR YOU.
The promises of God are personal, so I want you to go back and meditate on it.
8. SEEK FOR DIVINE DIRECTION.
Some situations need direction before they can be over.
That’s why we must go to God, go into fasting and prayers and talk to God.
Lord, direct me, what’s the way out? What’s the next step? What’s the next decision? This is going to help you.
9. YOU MUST HAVE FAITH.
10. CAST YOUR CARES UPON THE LORD
11. PRAYER AND WORSHIP
Very powerful messages, more grace
It’s all about God, he has been so good and he will take control of everything that I asked him. I have to be strong enough to overcome no matter the situation. He still my God.
He will see me over.
