BECOMING UNSHAKEABLE IN A FALLING WORLD.
Romans 8:37-39 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We live in a World where a lot of things are changing , darkness is hovering over the world .
Marriage are scattering
Many Are compromising
Pastors are forgetting their vision
Churches are turning to business centre
Moral values are losing value
Sin doesn’t look dangerous to many again
Rebellion and bold rebels is the order of the day.
Prayer meetings now look like cemetery
Spirituality and Heaven consciousness is dying.
The Spirit of Religion is taking over .
Many Are no longer expecting the coming of Christ .
Many Are dropping their conviction on the fear of God and a life that pleases him .
Constant barrage of negative news.
Political turmoil, and societal unrest .
However as believers, the life God expected us to live is a life of steadfastness, UNSHAKEABLE faith , UNSHAKEABLE trust , and UNSHAKEABLE Love for God.
Events of time and seasons , the changing world , must not change us from our Real Person in Christ to how the devil wants us to be .
God wants us to become unshakeable , that nothing can shake us away .
Nothing can shake away the fear of God.
Nothing can shake away our trust in God
Nothing can shake away our faith in God
Nothing can shake away our dependence on God .
Whether we like it or not, the world will keep shaking, new trends, new things , new moves .
But we must be unshakeable if we will see Jesus at last .
Being unshakeable is determined on which foundation our life is built on.
When we build our lives on Christ, we can stand firm even when everything around us is falling apart.
When I use the word unshakable, I am not talking about a person who is perfect that doesn’t have trials and weaknesses.
But I am talking about a person who is consistent in character, who is persistent through trials, and who stands for what is right. He stands for God when others are denying God.
Jesus also spoke about the importance of building our lives on a solid foundation.
In Matthew 7:24-27, He tells the story of two builders: one who built his house on a rock and another who built his house on sand.
When a storm came, the house built on the rock stood firm, while the house built on sand was destroyed.
Jesus uses this story to illustrate the importance of building our lives on a foundation that cannot be shaken.
The same storm, rains , flood , but the foundation on which the house was built determines their safety.
WHO WHAT FOUNDATION IS YOUR LIFE BUILD ?
The foundation of our life is crucial because it determines the strength and stability of everything we build upon it.
The foundation upon which we build our lives is crucial to our overall success and happiness.
Don’t build your life on man
Don’t build your life on money
Don’t build your life on property
Don’t built your life on your connections
But Build your life on Christ.
It is Christ that you will always need .
When All things Fails , Christ won’t fail you .
Become unshakeable…..
- Stand firm
- The problem can not overcome you
- You are an overcomer
- Don’t be afraid
- Be bold
- Be strong
- God is with you
- You won’t fall
- You won’t fail
- Just Hold Christ tightly
- Don’t give up your faith .
HOW CAN WE BECOME UNSHAKEABLE IN A FALLING WORLD.
1 . Set Your AFFECTION on things from Above .
This means that our hearts and minds should be focused on the things of God, rather than the things of this world. In Colossians 3:2, it says, “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
The things that we may desire in this world, such as wealth, fame, or power, will not last.
However, the things of God, such as love, joy, peace, and eternal life, are everlasting.
Why we should set our affection on things from above is because it helps us to keep our priorities in order.
In Matthew 6:33, it says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
When we focus on the things of God, we are putting Him first in our lives.
This helps us to make decisions that are in line with His will and to live a life that is pleasing to Him.
In addition, setting our affection on things from above helps us to have a proper perspective on life.
In 2 Corinthians 4:18, it says, “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
When we focus on the things of God, we are reminded that this life is not all there is.
We have the hope of eternal life with Him, which gives us a sense of peace and purpose.
2. BE HEAVEN AND ETERNITY CONSCIOUS.
We need to understand that this life is temporary and that our ultimate destination is heaven.
We need to live with an eternal perspective, recognizing that our actions and decisions in this life have eternal consequences.
We should strive to live a life that will bring glory to God and store up treasures in heaven.
3. FIXED YOUR EYES ON JESUS.
4. KNOW YOUR POSITION IN CHRIST
Knowing your position in Christ is essential for living a victorious Christian life.
When we understand who we are in Christ, we can walk in confidence and authority, knowing that we have been made new and are now children of God.
1. You are a new creation – 2 Corinthians 5:17
2. You are a child of God – John 1:12 says,
“But as many as received him, to them gave him power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe in his name.”
3. You are forgiven – Colossians 1:14
4. You are a joint-heir with Christ – Romans 8:17 .
5. You are seated with Christ in heavenly places – Ephesians 2:6 says, “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
Through our union with Christ, we are seated with Him in heavenly places. This means that we have access to spiritual blessings and can live in victory in a shaking world.
5. KNOW YOUR POSSESSION IN CHRIST.
Knowing your possession in Christ is crucial for living a life of abundance and fulfilment.
As believers, we have been given an inheritance in Christ that is beyond measure.
Understanding what we possess in Him will help us to walk in confidence and boldness, knowing that we have access to all that He has provided for us.
1. You have eternal life
2. You have been redeemed
3. You have been adopted –
4. You have been given the Holy Spirit
5. You have been given spiritual gifts –
6. GIVE NO PLACE TO THE DEVIL
We give place to the devil
》 WHEN WE BECOME UNWATCHFUL
WHEN BECOME PRAYERLESS
WHEN WE allow the love of money
When we give room to anger and bitterness
When we give room to unforgiveness
When we become careless with our tongue
When we become proud.
When we move with bad company .
7. PRAYERFUL AND BEING CONSISTENT IN CHRISTIANS FELLOWSHIP.
8. SEEKING to know GOD’S MIND IN EVERYTHING.
