PRAYING AN EFFECTIVE PRAYER IN JESUS NAME.
John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
1. Prayer is a vital key that connects us with our heavenly Father.
2. Prayer is both an incredible privilege and an awesome responsibility.
It can move the hand of God in situations where there is no other hope.
3. Biblical prayer is crying to God out of the depths; it is the pouring out of the soul before God.
But It is one thing to pray and another thing to pray according to the will and patterns of God.
There are lots of prayers that travel every minute each day.
But it is not every prayer that is prayed that receives an answer because the prayer men pray most of the time may oppose God’s standard, will , and plan for their lives.
An effective Prayer is a prayer that performs wonders.
An effective Prayer is a prayer that touches the heart of God to arise and Do something.
Today alot go to different places of prayer but do not understand the mystery of the answer to prayer .
You must understand that it is not anyhow a place where God can answer a prayer .
A place that has been dedicated to the evil Spirit, that the pastor has entered a satanic covenant, such a place is a taboo for prayer .
God is not going to operate in such a place , even people who go there are putting themselves in another double problem.
When you are going to a place where they are asking you to bring strange things for prayer , you need to flee before you enter a serious problem.
A prayer that would bring down God’s glory and presence must be prayed in Jesus name.
Not in the name of any prophet
Not in the name of Any pastor
Not in the name of Any Angel
Not in the name of Any Spirit.
But in the name of Jesus Christ.
The only true way to heaven is Jesus Christ and the only person through which we can receive answers to prayer is through Jesus Christ
We have a lot of people that are praying – they are going through some things that they want God to deliver them from.
I believe some of you have been praying to God on some issues.
Some have been praying to God for six years, three years, four years and shockingly twenty years on one issue and yet do not receive an answer to their prayer.
Some are even confused and they ask themselves this question; “Does God still answer prayer ?”
Yes God still answers Prayer because the Bible says, “Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever.” .
But the problem is this: many prayers are not prayed according to the will of God.
I repeat it again: Many prayers are not prayed according to God’s Will .
God is ever ready to hear our prayer but are we also ready to do what will bring the answer to prayer .
If you look at our Text Very Well , You will discover there is a solution to unanswered prayer .
John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
JESUS SAYS IF “YE ABIDE IN ME “
The secret of victory in the life of God’s children is, hearkening diligently to the voice of God and obeying the voice of God.
if you have seen any child of God :
living in victory .
defeating the powers of the enemy,
overcoming the fierce enemies that are assigned against his/her soul,
enjoying the benefits of the Cross,
enjoying the blessings of the resurrection of Christ,
The secret of their victorious experiences is simply abiding in Christ.
Except we abide, we are exposed to danger.
Except we abide, we are in serious trouble.
The call to abide in Christ is such a call that our generation has refused and abandoned.
And failure to embrace this call is the secret of shipwreck in the lives of many believers.
Failure to accept the call to abide is the secret behind failure, tragedy and danger and that occurs in the lives of God’s children.
We can’t overcome the enemy of our soul except we abide in Him.
We can’t be victorious except we abide in Him.
This is because when we abide in Him, there is a connection that takes place in our spirit, soul and body.
Some of you, the only way you can overcome the problem that you’re going through is when you start living a life of obedience to the Scripture.
Stop making excuses for committing sin and start to embrace the call of God upon your life.
It is until you abide before you will begin to see every mountain as removable.
Every mountain in life is removable.
The secret behind why you have tarried before that mountain of your life may be because of failure to abide in Him.
WHAT ARE THE SIGNS THAT YOU ARE ALREADY COMING OUT OF HIS ABODE .
1. SPIRITUAL PRIDE
2. LACK OF HUNGER FOR THE WORD OF GOD.
3. A SICK OR WEAK PRAYER LIFE
4 . WORLDLY PLEASURES TAKING OVER YOUR SPIRITUAL ACTIVITIES.
5. THE JUSTIFICATION OF SIN AND LOST OF SENSE OF GUILT.
6. TOLERATION OF SINS
7. WHEN YOU ARE BEING CONTROLLED BY THE FLESH
8. WORLDLINESS
9. LIVING A HYPOCRITICAL LIFE.
When you begin to live a double life, you now flow with sinners, backsliders.
That is, you enjoy keeping companies with sinners; you enjoy spending time with sinners, not to preach the gospel but for fun – talk, joke and laugh.
10 . WITHDRAWAL FROM FELLOWSHIP WITH SAINTS
BUT WHAT IS THE CONSEQUENCES OF NOT ABIDING IN CHRIST.
1. Powerlessness
The enemies will not fear you; your prayer will not scare them because what makes prayer powerful is righteousness and holiness.
When God’s people cry unto God with holiness and righteousness, something will happen.
Powerlessness! You won’t be able to defeat the enemy. The Bible says, “When they cry, I will mock their cry,” because of sin.
As mighty as the hand of God is, He said, “I will not stretch forth my hand to deliver them because of their iniquity.”
2. Spiritual Emptiness
3. Barrenness
4. Unanswered Prayer
The Bible says, “I will shut up their heaven. The heaven over them shall be iron.” You see that? God was saying that with His mouth.
Leviticus 26:19 KJV
“And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:”
The heaven of those that fail to abide will be an iron.
That is, they will pray and nothing will happen; they will call and nothing will.
They will shout, “Jesus” and it will be as if the name of Jesus is not powerful.
And others will call that name, something will happen.
5. Lack Of Accessibility To Treasure Room And Spiritual Birthright.
That is, there are lots of benefits that those that abide in the Lord enjoy.
They include:
Power, deliverance,
victory,
security,
revelation,
open heaven,
divine appointment,
a terror to the devil,
breakthrough,
prosperity,
blessing,
divine connection,
divine helpers,
destiny helpers,
destiny announcers and so many others.
Those that fail to abide won’t enjoy these benefits.
AN EFFECTIVE PRAYER .
1 . BEGINS WITH THANKSGIVING.
2 . PLEAD FOR THE BLOOD OF JESUS TO TAKE AWAY SINS THAT CAN HINDER IT .
3 . PRAY IN JESUS NAME .
4 . BE FOCUS IN THE PRAYER
Fervent prayer is putting:
Your whole self—
all of your attention,
your mind,
your will, and your emotions—
on that thing you’re praying about.
That means your mind is focused on prayer instead of drifting off on other things.
5 . Don’t go to any other god.
6 . Ask for the right thing.
7 . Don’t doubt, Believe.
Matthew 21:22- If you believe you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.
8 . Avoid all manners of bitterness.
9 . End it with thanksgiving.
10. Expect the answer.
